Couples Work
The most important aspect of working with couples in marriage counseling and any other type of partnership, is to help improve communication skills with each partner in the relationship dynamic. To be able to accept each other’s truth without losing his/her own truth is imperative in building a trusting, open, and honest relationship.
Methods that I use to help develop this acceptance of each other's truth are creating an open dialogue, establishing validation, gaining understanding, and empathizing with each person in the relationship. This creates an atmosphere of safety that fosters trust in the relationship.
Men’s Issues
I have a strong interest in helping men work through blocks that impede personal growth. In doing so, my focus is grounded in helping men develop an awareness and understanding of the adult male psyche, and become better skilled at processing issues that he as a man may be encountering in today’s society.
